Wildlife of Burwash

There are a variety of habitats in the Burwash area suitable to a variety of wildlife. It is possible to see wolf, moose, elk, beaver, bear, otters, red squirrels, several types of turtles and a variety of insects.

Wildlife is often seen from the roads in the early morning or evening.  The lakes and wetlands afford the right habitat to observe moose.  Deer are common along the edges of the forest.

The Burwash area is famous for its elk.

The abundant wildlife just about ensures that the wildlife photographer or observer will see something on every visit.
